Responsibilities:
Help Material Technical Manager to manage the application of new and existing packaging materials with respect to production facility capabilities, and packaging specification, defects, standardization and new vendor/packaging qualification perspective. Help implement initiatives related to Global packaging journey to excellence.
Key Activities:
Help the Packaging Technical Manager to coordinate the implementation of packaging projects/initiatives in the Region, driven from Marketing, HSSE/Legal, Global Excellence, cost optimization, standardization and Packaging Problem shooting activities.
Help the Packaging Material Technical Manager to identify packaging defects and develop & deliver resolutions to stop recurring quality incidents that would affect end customers.
Help the Packaging Material Technical Manager to build and maintain Fit-for-Purpose Goods Receipt Inspection QA (Quality Assurance)/QC (Quality Control) System for packaging.
Provide technical expertise and support on materials handling best practices.
Help new packaging qualification ground works, and collecting and distributing packaging QA Standards for implementing to plants.
Manage Packaging Defects Reporting in collaboration with Materials Planning in respect to:
Maintain monthly PDR (Packaging Defects Report) to capture learning, enable root cause analysis and follow up improvement with Packaging vendors.
Provide statistics to monitor packaging quality.
Monitor effectiveness by benchmarking from the Packaging related Customer Complaints monthly statistics.
Help implement Global packaging initiatives to bring the region on the Journey to Excellence in respect to:
Packaging key suppliers scheduled audits.
Packaging Training Workshops to raise competence of key LSC (Lubricants Supply Chain) staff who would handle packaging.
System Tool to manage packaging quality defects and incidents.
Optimized and standardized specifications whilst meeting regional requirements.
Cost reduction with standardized benchmarking activities with internal and industrial, innovative packaging.
Supplier development for selected suppliers.
Requirements:
This is a position that operates virtually and requires the ability to deliver through networks and without line responsibility.
4 or more years of relevant material technical experience (including support to operations and/or direct production) is required. Solid experience in logistics is of added value.
Knowledge of local language is critical. Have to manage with both speaking and written English well.
Quick learner, good innovator, team cooperator and willing to travel mainly in China.
